Join us March 20-24, 2023 for

MAEF’s 13th annual Ag Literacy Week!

Volunteer Readers purchase our selected book for $10, then schedule a visit to a local K-3rd grade classroom where they read the story, complete a classroom activity, and share their experiences in agriculture.  The book is then donated to the classroom library, along with lessons for the classroom teacher to extend the students’ learning about agriculture.

MAEF’s Ag Literacy Week program allows YOU to be the face of agriculture for students who may otherwise never know the important role agriculture plays in their daily lives.

Nominate a teacher for the

Velma M. Clark Excellence in Teaching about Ag Award!

This award is used to recognize a Maryland K-12 teacher for their excellent job in incorporating agriculture into their curriculum. We LOVE our Ag Teachers, but this award is for those teachers who don’t have agriculture in their curriculum, but find a way to incorporate it into their subject content areas. The teacher selected for our 2023 award will receive a $500 classroom stipend, as well as a scholarship to attend the 2023 National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference.
