Ag Literacy Week

March 16-20, 2026

The Dog Who Saved the Bees has been selected as the 2026 Maryland Ag Literacy book. This is a heartwarming story about a clever dog who discovers that bees are in trouble and works with his human friends to protect them. Through teamwork and curiosity, the book teaches readers about the importance of pollinators and how small actions can make a big difference for nature.
We invite YOU – Farm Bureau members, farmers, ranchers, FFA students, Young Farmers, Commodity group leaders, industry representatives, and other supportive of agriculture to be the face of agriculture in your local classroom!

The Colors of Agriculture Art Contest celebrates the creativity of Maryland students by showcasing how agriculture is in our daily lives. Each month, a winning piece of student artwork is featured each month alongside highlights of agriculture in action and key ag events happening across Maryland. The March winner is Clifton, a 10th grader from Damascus, Maryland. Clifton’s artwork highlights a greenhouse alongside rows of vegetables, capturing the energy and preparation that comes with the changing seasons.
