Cows can moo

Join us March 21-25, 2022 for MAEF’s 12th annual Ag Literacy Week!

Volunteer Readers purchase our selected book for $10, then schedule a visit to a local K-3rd grade classroom where they read the story, complete a classroom activity and share their experiences in agriculture.  The book is donated to the classroom library, along with lessons for the classroom teacher to extend the students’ learning about agriculture.

MAEF’s Ag Literacy Week program allows YOU to be the face of agriculture for students who may otherwise never know the important role agriculture plays in their daily lives.

2020’s Ag Literacy Book – Order Yours Now!

Tales of a Dairy Godmother: Chuck’s Ice Cream Wish is this year’s children’s book selected for MAEF’s Ag Literacy Program. Through the Ag Literacy Program, literacy volunteers set up a time to visit in a nearby school and read to students in grades K-3. Following the reading of the book, volunteers conduct an activity with the students and share their experiences in agriculture.  The book is then left in the classroom or media center.
