STMSTC has created an urban garden using Horse Troughs. We have an afterschool garden club in which the students maintain the area for the school. The students learn about the entire process from planting to harvesting. We share the bounty with the entire community. Typically, we plant corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, onions, potatoes, herbs, peas, beans, sunflowers, etc. It is a great learning experience for all.
Paul – thanks for sharing. This sounds like a very good program. Do you have any photos you can share? Are you planning to apply for the Urban Garden Grant? You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 410-939-9030. George Mayo, Executive Director.
